ABOUT THE BOOK

In From the Cold: What I've Learned About Life, Love, and Letting Go!

Juliette McNeil knows more keenly than many that life isn’t always easy.

Growing up in a harsh, unloving home in the segregated South, her only consolation was the quiet assurance that God loved her no matter what.

That faith brought her through difficult years of loneliness and abuse to a place of healing, from being unwanted in a simple miner’s home to a warm welcome at the White House. It inspired her to find purpose and hope through higher education and a highly successful career with the federal government.

Even more significantly, she has found love in a joyful marriage and devoted family, and reunited with long-lost siblings.

Despite now confronting a serious health challenge, Juliette continues to help others facing the kind of difficulties she once endured, through the McNeil Family Foundation she founded with her husband, James.

And through the pages of In from the Cold she shares some of the lessons she has learned about life, love, and letting go...

"A compelling story of a coal miner's daughter who was able to rise above the hatred of a wicked stepmother and an unloving father."

"I never tired of reading the story of Cinderella even though I knew it was fiction. Juliette McNeil’s story is real! This is no sugar-coated, “sentimental journey;” rather it’s a pull-back-the-cover, gut-wrenching revelation of a painful past and her inspiring emergence from it. Many people would have been broken by the conditions Juliette faced growing up in rural Alabama. She not only survived…she excelled! Even though she has “come in from the cold,” you will see that she’s not done yet! This is a must-read! You will be amazed and inspired!"
